I bought 5 of these Chalcedony Druzy free form pendandts, and this is my first necklace with them. I paired it with faceted Iolite and Labradorite, sterling silver beads and wire. I decided not to oxidize this since all I have is Black Silver, and this can't be tumbled since it's on leather.
Normally I'll wear a necklace once before selling it to make sure there are no pokies or other issues, but I didn't have that chance - I hope the owner likes it!
I'll have my journal updated soon to include more pictures, but it won't be until Monday.
Thanks for looking and any feedback you have to offer!Z

Nice random look! I think tumbling would be the least of the leather's problems once you dipped it in hydrochloric acid : ) Could you maybe form this slide on a mandrel just larger than your leather, dip and neutralize, and then pop it back onto the mandrel for a polish? I'd hand polish not tumble, because of the nice stones you have there (I love labradorite too!) but that's just me. Some kind of thick wire might work well for a mandrel maybe?

Very nice piece. What I have done a couple of times when dipping in silver black wasn't an option was to use a paintbrush and brush it onto the silver, being VERY careful to not get it on whatever it was that couldn't be dipped (leather, wood, bone, etc). It is slow going, and you can't leave your silver black container sitting open by your tools or anything metal for too long (read: I did, and it turned everything near it dark just from the fumes!), but it is one way to get the antique look. There is also the egg method; I don't know if having the leather in there at the same time would hurt it or not. I would guess no, but I've never tried it, so don't take my word for that! But if you decide to leave it shiny, it is still a very nice piece.

This I would wear in an instant - I LOVE the random braided look around the leather and the stones that you have used. That druzy is a doozy!! I'd be happy to keep it bright and shiny :^)
I'm sure the new owner will love it - if not, just send it here!!....Lynette.

I love what you've done around the leather. Oh, and the pendant. I've never seen anything like it before!
